It can be used to create three-dimensional images. The main advantage of DVT images is that they make much more precise and meaningful diagnosis possible:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, the 3D representation is often the only way of recognizing the exact width of the jawbone or evaluating the spatial routing of an important nerve pathway and protecting it accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The advantages of Digital Volume Tomography:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-kolling-arrows\">\n<li>We can get a more accurate picture of the anatomical situation, because the structures of the body are also shown in depth. The images are also extremely detailed, true to scale and undistorted.<\/li>\n<li>In general, treatments such as implantations can be planned more precisely and therefore usually carried out in a safer and more protective way.<\/li>\n<li>DVT uses significantly less radiation than the frequently used computer tomography (CT).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How DVT works:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-kolling-arrows\">\n<li>DVT provides individual cross-sectional images of the jaw or the entire head.<\/li>\n<li>These individual images can either be used directly for true-to-scale measurement or combined to create a complete image of the jaw with the aid of software.<\/li>\n<li>The complete image is then shown on the monitor for computer-aided 3D implant planning, for example.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Digital Volume Tomography (DVT) Digital Volume Tomograph (DVT) is a high-tech X-ray device which was specially developed for the head area.
